Storyline:  In the years following the Civil War, the American West was a lawless land. After carrying out his final act of justice as the sheriff of Montana, Seth Bullock (Timothy Olyphant) heads to a gold prospecting camp known as Deadwood. There, he and his partner Sol Star attempt to start a business by opening a hardware store for the miners. Bullock soon crosses paths with a newcomer - the legendary gunslinger Wild Bill Hickok (Keith Carradine) - and clashes with the formidable owner of the local bar, Al Swearengen (Ian McShane).
