Characters are also shot, stabbed, tortured, hit with psychic attacks and all sorts of other cosmic nastiness. The later seasons are darker and feature more intense violence.

While the show mostly uses made-up alien swears in place of the actual words, mild language is used sparingly in the series (eg, "Shit", "Ass", "Crap", "Bitch", "Hell").

From season 3, Farscape takes on a darker tone, with a bleaker atmosphere to match.
