In 1981, the Communist party issued an order to ban karate. Violators were imprisoned or left on the sidelines of life. The same fate befell the hero of the film Aleksandr Boyarov, who had the fourth "dan" and taught this sport. Thanks to the same sport, he survived in Afghanistan. Life sent martial arts enthusiasts down different paths, and Boyarov got a job as a "bouncer" in the Leningrad bar "Palmira".
