Unlike the movies, the swearing is limited to words like "Damn" and "Hell".
Some episodes use the words "Fag" (In relation to it's double meaning in the US and UK), "Retarded" and "Gay".
The DVD release of the show titled "Clerks: Uncensored" has live action segments featuring Jay and Silent Bob which also do contain strong language. Similar to "Ren and Stimpy" as there is both obvious and not-so-obvious profanity uncensored even on the show itself.
Some of the profanity bits are even a bit stronger than the original movie. Plus despite what one said, this is the show uncensored, so there will be stuff in it on the DVD.
Some persistent F-words every now and then, strong enough to be a hard TV-MA.
Cinemax content advisory for the animated series: various, depending on the episode. For some, rated TV-MA-LS for strong sexual content (SSC), graphic language (GL), and adult content (AC), and some rated TV-MA-LSV for violence (V), graphic language (GL) and adult content (AC), etc.
