Storyline:  The Earth is an apocalyptic wasteland: destructive creatures known as "Angels" never stop wreaking havoc. In Japan, in the fortified city of Tokyo-3, a teenager named Shinji is taken to the headquarters of NERV, an organization led by his estranged father, Gendou. He asks Shinji to pilot an "Evangelion", a giant android capable of fighting these monstrosities. Though reluctant after not seeing his father for so long, Shinji enters the battlefield as the pilot of Evangelion Unit-01. This is the original anime adaptation of the manga of the same name, which became a hallmark classic.
