The final episode of season three, a woman is shown removing her clothes, revealing her in a cleavage revealing swimsuit, and showing bare legs.

The only episodes implying sex are "The Gauntlet" (S1E4), "The Escape" (S1E19), and "Lost Love, part 1" (S3E1). See each episode's Parent Guide for details.

Romance and kissing occurs frequently.

The episode "Runners" focuses on a teenaged prostitute attempting to escape from her employer, and at one point a man says she propositioned him. No intercourse occurs on or offscreen.

Occasionally you see someone get shot, But it is usually framed well and isn't up close and personal. It is also very much the cheesy 80's action violence with slightly more realistic blood and wounds so it may still scare kids under the age where they can easily tell its fake.

Common fight scenes consist of punches, kicks and tackles. The main protagonist expresses his opposition to the use of firearms.

Occasional deaths by gunshots (with some blood), cliffs, etc. Few violent deaths appear that are uncharacteristic of the series, such as:

One episode contains the N-word. It is only used by the villain however.

Sometimes about one blasphemy (often Oh my G**) per episode. However, after season 1, (and one flashback in season 2) MacGyver himself never swears.

Mild cursing. Hell and damn are said. Approximately 0-2 swears per episode.

The season 4 episode "Blood Brothers" features heavy usage of crack. It is no way promoting it and shows its negative effects of it.

Main protagonist smokes three cigarettes at once in the Pilot; however, it was a trick to see the laser rays. Besides this, he never smokes or drinks alcohol.

"Twenty questions" (S6E4) features protagonist's fight to prevent his 15-year-old friend's alcoholism; scenes of excessive beer consumption and intoxication of teenagers is shown twice in this episode, with adverse effects of alcohol and bad peer-pressure is emphasized.

You see the occasional use of alcohol and cigarettes with some episodes showing harder drugs like prescription pain meds or crack. Sometimes the main character is drugged in order to get information out of him or to try to keep him from stopping whatever bad thing they are going to do.

Occasional smoking, consumption of wine or other alcoholic beverages. Mostly shown as used in moderation.

Smuggling, production or possession of heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine and PCP is shown in various episodes, always by the villians.

Illegal drug operations are severely fought against by the allied characters, and the main protagonist frowns upon the use of tobacco and alcohol products.

Some of the episodes, especially in the last 2 seasons, can deal with some pretty dark themes like domestic violence, prostitution and drug use. That said, it is all handled in a way that ends up teaching you a useful lesson by the end of the episode and none of it is too graphic like a lot of modern day shows.

Rare deaths of allied side characters are dramatic and shocking.

Frequent moments of peril (cliffs, hostages, gunpoint, time bomb moments)

The episodes "Deadly Dreams" and "A Lesson in Evil" have a moderate suspense/horror theme, and may result in the first exposure of younglings to this genre of entertainment.
