The old woodcarver Geppetto painstakingly creates a marionette that comes to life one magical night with the blessing of a fairy godmother. The naive Pinocchio immediately leaves the protective home of his creator and plunges into a turbulent adventure: he encounters a cunning fox and a crafty cat who steal his hard-earned money, and comes under the influence of a charismatic but unscrupulous circus director. The easy-going joker Lucignolo also plays a seductive role by telling Pinocchio about a wondrous toy paradise - a place where dreams and nightmares merge. With each new encounter, it becomes clearer that Pinocchio's journey is far more than an adventure: he must confront the dark sides of lies, deceit and temptation. His growing nose, an unmistakable sign of dishonesty, reminds him of the price of his quest for freedom and self-determination. In the end, Pinocchio finds his way back to his beloved Geppetto and to himself - after numerous trials and unexpected twists and turns.
