Some of the story follows Zero two and 16's friendship. They do eventually kiss but it's pretty brief.

There is a scene where Zero Two is skinny dipping, she then jumps out and breasts are shown. However, this is covered by her hair. The scene is quite long but isn't explicit.

There are many situations with not-so-subtle sexual innuendos

Girls are in bikini on the beach and most of the body is shown.

In the first episode an old man grabs a womans butt.

A girls butt is clearly shown as she pulls up her underwear.

Multiple bath scenes. Fully naked bodies of both boys and girls are shown, with slight censoring of nipples with hair and private parts with camera angles and such.

One of the girls learns where babies come from and says she wants to make one. Later on you see her in bed with a boy under the covers and they are both clearly naked.

The mechs fight robotic dragon-like creatures called Klaxosaurs. Little blood is shown on human faces if their mechs get damaged.
