Bohéma (2017)

Following the end of WWII, a once acclaimed and wealthy elite of celebrities now has to face the consequences of their collaboration during Nazi occupation in communist Czechoslovakia. The Germans founded Pragfilm, which absorbed the former AB Barrandov. They invested in studio equipment and employed two thousand mostly Czech people with the aim of shooting German and Czech films. Because of this, post-war nationalized cinema was doing great. Czech films helped maintain peace and order in the protectorate, the Nazis stated. And at the same time they maintained national awareness, stated the Czechs. And so everyone was satisfied and the hand washed away: the audience in the cinema forgot about the harsh reality, the producers made money and the filmmakers did not have to go to Germany for work thanks to the pedaling production. All these were not seen. But there were actors whose popularity rose like a comet during the protectorate. But she did not do without social contacts with the Nazis, and so most of the Czech stars stood before the people's court for collaboration after the war. The motive for the accusations was often just the envy and bad conscience of the very viewers who had enthusiastically applauded the stars shortly before. Some were cleansed, but most were not helped anyway. And there were those who calmly betrayed anyone and declared anything. Just so they can continue to play - even for the communists. They just slipped from one collaboration to another.
