The series has some scenes of its female lead being in states of undress and taking a shower. Some sexual innuendo and humor plays out occasionally with Lev being accused of being a pervert at points by Irina and Anya implied at being too touchy-feely while performing her examinations on Irina.

In one episode, Irina and Lev go to a tavern where both drink alcohol and Irina wanders the streets with Lev while drunk afterward.

The Zirnitra Union is heavily implied to be based off the Soviet Union during the Cold War, thus the government's oppression, censorship, and purging of elements considered harmful to the government's influence and authority do rear their head in some scenes throughout the series.
