Unable to cope with his divorcing parents' squabbles, 15-year-old Matthew Stevenson takes it out on his church. The godly old widower whose woodcarvings Matthew trashed takes him in as a worker to help repair the damage, which also provides the boy a quiet, safe harbor in which to consider WWJD (What Would Jesus Do?). That phrase gets back to his parents and influences them, and the family that had been disintegrating mends as it turns to God.

The journey continues from "WWJD" as the drifter (John Schneider) arrives into a new town to inspire another group of people to live as Jesus would. A troubled teen heads down the wrong path, dragging his brother along with him. A young woman struggles with the pressures of being in a romantic relationship. A family hopes to reunite with their estranged father. When the local pastor Joseph loses his faith in the Lord, the Drifter leads the pastor and the community on an improbable journey back to faith and redemption.
