Horror films directed and/or written by Black filmmakers, or films featuring a predominantly Black cast or with a Black lead. I would have preferred to not put in any white filmmakers at all, and maybe that will change, but for now, I'll leave those films in as long as the cast isn't predominantly white. In an attempt to balance out the stigma against TV movies, the most worthwhile have been mined from your vague memories and the occasional charity shop VHS bargain bin and presented here. Yes, they almost exclusively focus on true stories, biopics and social issues, but so do most Academy Awards Best Picture nominees. In any case, there are plenty of good examples of these genres here and many good exceptions too. I'm just saying "worthwhile" because I know the quality here will vary wildly.
