I'm on the sixth season, and the plot is getting more and more ridiculous. The writers seem to be running out of fresh ideas, and the characters' traits are becoming more radical. There's a death in every season, and it feels very forced. Maya's story was initially fascinating, but it's gotten increasingly absurd in the sixth season. As the most stubborn character in "Station 19", Maya made a lot of changes and sacrifices for Carina in the earlier seasons. Still, she's portrayed as foolish and pitiful in the sixth season. I hope the seventh season will bring the character development back to a more realistic place, and I'm eager to see how the other characters will grow and change!
Watching the previous seasons, I always felt like the main characters in this show were annoying, but I could still understand them. Every time I wanted to give up on this show, it would bring in some connections to "Grey's Anatomy," which really kept me coming back again and again. It goes to show that good scriptwriting is just so important, and it's very clever of them not to rush to explain all the stories in one episode.
