A War Epic. The Lord of the Rings (TLotR) either intentionally or unintentionally diminishes the presence of magic. Because what TLotR wants to convey is: even ordinary people can change the development trend of things, even the most insignificant role can change the fate of many people, and the influence of magic on the course of things is gradually revealed in the true performances of the actors. It has been downplayed, which is why in the trilogy, magic only exists to render the psychological changes of the characters as a certain tone, rather than targeting the entity of a certain thing. The first TLotR film can be called a road movie, and the second one is not so much a magical chapter as a war epic.
