This movie marks the beginning of the "Pirates of the Caribbean Universe." Depp truly brings the character to life, and at the same time, this charming, quirky, and fearless pirate character is a perfect role for him to shine. The humorous storyline is conclusive, and the main characters are well-defined: Will Turner is kind and determined, Elizabeth is a natural-born adventurer, and the antagonist, Barbossa, is clever yet fiercely loyal to the pirate code. Hans Zimmer's soundtrack is exhilarating and timeless.

When Sparrow first shows up, the theme music peaks to mark his arrival. But for me, the moment the movie takes off is when Sparrow makes his first escape, grabbing onto the rope and swinging like he's on a swing. It's an enjoyable watching experience all the way till the end.
