A trip back to the eighties. This wonderful series takes us on the nostalgia train and gives us a ride into the sci-fi of the 80s with the typical gang stories of the American cinema.

The series is a blend of The Lovely Bones and Stand by Me and utilizes multiple narrative threads: one follows four kids combining whimsical ideas with logical reasoning; another focuses on Joyce's unwavering belief that her son is still alive; a third details the chief of police's hands-on search for the truth; and a fourth reveals Jonathan inadvertently capturing evidence of the monster's existence. All these threads converge in the final two episodes, showcasing an exceptionally well-crafted script.
Stranger Things masterfully pays homage to Spielberg, Carpenter, and the entirety of 80s sci-fi, horror, and coming-of-age films, while also packing in loads of American pop culture references from the decade, enhanced by catchy synth music. The young actors deliver impressive performances, though Winona Ryder sometimes seems a bit over the top. The pacing, suspense, and plot twists are perfectly executed, making it hard to stop watching. Despite its flaws, it's still highly entertaining.
The storytelling in the fourth season surpasses the first three, with surprises at every corner. These teens are incredibly cool and brave. Eleven taps into her power through love, not pain like 001. Each female character shines uniquely. I really adore seeing these teens come together and fight for love in this exciting plot! I'm eagerly anticipating the fifth season! Max, you've got to make it through to the end! And I can't wait to see all the girls living happily in the finale!
The diverse elements in this series truly satisfy me. The storyline of the first three seasons starts to get a bit fuzzy, but the fourth season remains thrilling. The Duffer brothers are incredibly skilled at crafting scripts. While the show continues to center around teenage fantasy, it has expanded far beyond that on the internet. Now, it's undeniably a blockbuster among streaming platforms and a dominant force among original series flourishing in the post-"Game of Thrones" adaptation era.
It reminds me of "The Lovely Bones" and "Stand by Me". The script is top-notch, with multiple storylines running simultaneously and coming together in the last two episodes. Each character plays a part, collaborating to piece together all the scattered information into a unified picture of the overarching issue they're working to solve. Every detail is addressed, and every setup pays off in the end. Absolutely flawless!
The further I get into it, the more incredible it becomes. The 80s culture, nostalgic retro vibes, consumerism culture, Cold War era, sci-fi, government spying, political intrigues, memories of childhood, rock music, retro synthesizer electronic tunes, emotions, psychology, conflicts, mysteries, references to "Back to the Future" and "Twin Peaks"—it's like a treasure trove of homage, and I can hardly imagine wanting anything more.
I binge-watched eight episodes in a day and highly recommend it. What really stands out to me about this show isn't just its tight storytelling pace, well-crafted setup, nods to 80s nostalgia, or even the homage to “Poltergeist” and “The Thing”. What I appreciate most is how the show depicts a town brimming with the kindness of human nature at a time when most shows portray characters as bitchy. I'll always be moved by that genuine warmth forever.
I liked the first season a lot, but never understood the hype around the series, especially when 2 and 3 came out. But, omg, the 4th season was just amazing.
