Willy Wonka meets his father. This incredible remake has Tim Burton's peculiar hallmark distinguished, in addition to his dark aesthetic, by the exploration of relationships between grandparents, parents and children.

I could watch this movie thousand times more. Johnny Depp's eccentric portrayal of Wonka adds a quirky charm to the film, while the vibrant set designs and imaginative special effects captivate the imagination. It´s a timeless cinematic treat that promises to leave audiences smiling from ear to ear.
This movie, adapted from a fairy tale, largely reproduces the magical world of chocolate depicted in the original. It tells us that children who are not polite will get into trouble, so they should learn to be polite. In addition, another important element of the story is family affection; the little boy would rather squeeze in a small, rickety house with his family than go to the chocolate factory alone. In the end, Mr. Wonka allows the whole family to move into the factory to live together, and they treat him as a family. This big and loving family makes up for the lack of familial affection in his childhood. Kids love this movie, and it's important to let them understand the choices that poor Charlie makes.
I really love Willy Wonka's hair and I love Johnny Depp more and more. The beginning reminds me of Sweeney Todd, and the creepy puppets are uniquely Burtonesque too. This era has underestimated Depp's acting and beauty!!! Hahaha! The TV scene there with the 2001 Space Odyssey and Psycho made me LOL-ed, and surprisingly I felt a little touched watching it. And here's my afterthought to thank the director for his outstanding contribution to my dreams over the years.
To be fair, I really didn't recognize Johnny Depp. I always thought Willy Wonka was very strange and abnormal, but vulnerable and unloved at heart. There's not a lot of foreshadowing, but the point of the movie is to make parents understand that they can't be too arrogant, to make children understand that they should be humble and friendly, to hope that the world is full of love, and to teach that family is the most important thing. As far as being educational is concerned, it's enough.
