A lot of details. To me, this show doesn’t work after reading the books, and I have a good reason: the show, as well as the books, are very slow and full of details. Some things are different in the two titles, what makes it confusing. My recommendation is: you should either watch the show or read the books, because the story is nothing less than awesome.

For me, it's one of the best series ever made, and yes, I know about the polemic last season. But to be honest, the last season had amazing episodes with amazing scenes. Obviously, it was a rushed finale, but that was only HBO's fault. I think it was a good ending within expectations. But let's not allow that to ruin this iconic series that will always be a classic. You know how great this was when the big question was, "Which series will become the next Game of Thrones?". This is just legendary!
What can be said about “Game of Thrones” that hasn't already been said? It's universally thought of as one of the best series in the history of television. Look up any "best shows ever" list, and I promise you'll find “Game of Thrones” near the top of every list you'll find. Obviously, everyone knows the last episode was absolutely awful, and even most of the actors have come out to admit they didn't like it. Having said that, it doesn't take away from the show being amazing. One bad episode doesn't take away from the other 72 episodes that were almost perfect! I've watched the entire series twice now, and, if anything, I just appreciate this show even more.
As I reflected on why I didn't enjoy the final season of the show as much, I realized that it's gradually lost that "poetic feel" it used to have. Before, the dialogue between the characters was intriguing—clever, and subtle, with layers of meaning and barbs traded between the lines, which perfectly embodied the essence of "Game of Thrones”, thanks to the original novels. Now, it feels more straightforward and shallow, with dialogue lacking the depth it once had. Even the expressions aren't as vivid as they used to be.
I've only just started watching this show, and it's living up to the hype. It features a vast, unforgiving world and characters with complex motivations, many driven by a pathological greed for power, revenge, and bloodshed. The intimate scenes are intense, yet few are truly infused with love, which is a bit disconcerting. The dragons (fantasy elements) are gradually introduced and slowly built from nuggets of information. This first season is truly just the appetizer.
We don't need to dwell on how well-made it is. Perhaps the greatest significance of this show lies in the fact that it has paved the way for the declining fantasy genre in film and TV. Magic, monsters, and grand spectacles take a back seat to a compelling story, well-developed characters, and an obscure yet complete worldview. What's even more valuable is that as an adaptation, most fans of the novel also hold this show in high regard. It's truly a masterpiece.
