Lautaro L's review about American History X(1998)

Hate stripped to its bare minimum.American History X is one of those films that, among a load of praise, nevertheless receives the scorn of people who consider that it is not "crude enough", comparing it to films that do not skimp on blood and drama. Explaining what a neo-Nazi is is not the objective or the raison d'être of this film. The real protagonist is not even Edward Norton. The protagonist is HATE, in capital letters, and the spiral of revenge that makes it endless. The story, after a disturbing first part, advances in a credible and coherent way, to meet an unexpected ending that is simply a masterpiece.
