A classic animated film that upends the fairy tale genre, "Shrek" blends various fairy tale characters and elements with a heavy dose of tongue-in-cheek humor. The plot is fantastic, offering freshness and creativity, with several transitions that stand out.

DreamWorks' humor hits the mark, and the unconventional plot is commendable. The screenplay boasts an unexpected complexity, and the voice actors' performances add significant depth, enriching the themes and core of the story. It's undoubtedly one of the animated films worth watching, but certain parts of the animation are notably unpolished, possibly due to budget constraints.

Seriously, I’ve watched this movie at least ten times. It's a fairytale for adults. The background with the swaying grass and drifting clouds, coupled with the iconic voice-acting… I didn't just fall in love with the story, I fell for that world on the screen. When the unclassical becomes a classic, when going against tradition becomes the tradition, and when a particularity becomes the norm, any sequels are simply subpar.

Genre subversion isn't the same as parodying. What made "Shrek" such a hit is how it 'breaks the truth' and destroys the 'consensus' of mainstream consciousness and injects new ideas, thereby grabbing people's attention and triggering deeper reflections, delivering a whole new kind of thrill.

Denme más ogros de estos.El personaje de ogro nunca había sido presentado en ningún lado con esta chispa tna fascinante, siempre caía en el estereotipo de amargado, pero es muy genial como le dan la vuelta en Shrek.

My kind of hero.One of the, if not the, greatest and most creative takes on fairy tales to this day, and the same goes for the main character. Extremely original, enjoyable, and the perfect adventure all around. A favorite.
