Four-and-a-half stars. It is already very good, and the fly in the ointment can be ignored.

I honestly don’t understand all the fuss over this movie. The plot is boring and the visual effects are not that surprising. There are tones of movies doing things just like that. I understand 3D was starting to become popular by that time, but nowadays nobody cares about it anymore.

No one can deny this is a great achievement regarding visual effects, but I think Cameron forgot the movie also needed a good plot. The premise is great, but they were not able to make it work until the end.

This is definitely a work of art. James Cameron invested a lot of money and time and the result couldn’t be better. Avatar mixes amazing visual effects with an interesting and deep plot that will make you think of after watching it.
