If you could pick any movie couple to vacation at The White Lotus, who would you choose?

The White Lotus is always the place where drama happens. If you could pick any movie characters, who would you love to see come to The White Lotus? For me, I'd totally pick Superman and Batman. They’re the ultimate couple.

The Craziest Show is Back! Which Performance Are You Most Excited About?

Season 3 premiered to 2.4M U.S. viewers on Sunday night. A 57% increase over Season 2’s premiere. After watching the first episode, I was shocked to find out that Saxon Ratliff’s actor, Patrick Schwarzenegger, is Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son! Usually, second-generation stars don’t have great acting skills, like Lily-Rose Melody Depp, Johnny Depp's daughter, in Nosferatu—she’s not a great actress. But Patrick Schwarzenegger did well in this show. Did you guys watch The White Lotus season 3, episode 1? Any performances that stood out to you?

thinkmiller: Arnold's son? I gotta go back and check that out again!

What Makes The White Lotus So Irresistible?

Calling The White Lotus a “highly anticipated” show barely does it justice. Every season kicks off with a dead body, rewinds a week, and then slowly peels back the layers of dysfunction, privilege, and chaos lurking beneath the polished veneer of luxury resorts. But the magic of the show isn’t just in its murder-mystery framing—it’s in how it constantly shifts gears. Season 1, set in Hawaii, was a

The White Lotus: My Guilty Pleasure of Watching Rich People Crash and Burn

Why do we—The Definitely Not Rich—love The White Lotus so much? It’s simple. There’s something almost primal in our enjoyment of watching these privileged characters unravel. It’s the undeniable satisfaction of seeing mean, hypocritical rich people, with their facade of wealth and respectability, suffer the consequences of their own actions. And this new season set in Thailand hits all the right n

Why Do I Miss Tanya So Much While Watching ‘The White Lotus’ Season 3?

The White Lotus Season 3 has finally premiered, and while it was one of my biggest anticipations for 2025, as the season unfolds, I find myself missing Jennifer Coolidge’s portrayal of the wealthy socialite, Tanya McQuoid, more and more. I’m not sayingthe show isn’t excellent. Under the direction and writing of Mike White, this latest season—despite being set in Thailand—still brings together the

20 Actors Who Should Be On the Next White Lotus (Part One)

You’re welcome, Mike White. As fans, we stay at the White Lotus for its excellent writing and filmmaking, but if you’re anything like me - you come for the cast. Showrunner Mike White tends to avoid A-listers, opting instead for character actors and TV stars, often those from years slightly passed. This may have been out of necessity in the first season, but as the show has grown into one of TV’s

Beautiful People-- Comedically Suffering-- Karmically-Caused-- For "Two Weeks-- In Bruges-- Wichu?"

As another fantastic season of Mike White's The White Lotus (his third) comes to a blistering close-- I'm once again reminded of a particularly niche-in-specificity-- cinematic-subset-genre that I often find myself largely hankering for, drawing towards and returning back to. That of which I like to call-- "Beautiful People Being Utterly Miserable, While Totally Trapped In Paradise, & Comically St

'The White Lotus:' A Quiet Kind of Racism

Mike White's The White Lotus Season 1 is a masterclass in dissection, catalyzing its following seasons 2 and 3, not just of wealth, class, and enduring colonialism but of the subtler form of racism practiced by its white, ultra-wealthy characters. That racism thrives under the guise of kindness, neoliberalism, and self-perceived innocence. It is a show where the most devastating harms are not done

Jenn The Editor: Olivia and Paula's performative social justice was so nuanced and well-depicted. They made me so angry, but also because I know sooo many girls like that!

‘Drop’ Review: Tech-Age Horror Thriller and a Rom-Com From Hell

If you've ever felt that pit-of-the-stomach anxiety before a first date – sweaty palms, forced small talk, scanning for red flags – imagine that cranked to eleven with your child’s life on the line. That’s the gut-punch premise of Drop, the latest genre bender from director Christopher Landon. It’s a film that begins with flirty glances across a table and ends with a bone-chilling choice. I Checked Out of The White Lotus

Everyone shut up—my oblivious, elitist reality show disguised as a drama is on. So wow, we just wrapped up White Lotus Season 3, and I have thoughts. First, let’s acknowledge my previous predictions, which were sometimes correct, and mostly incorrect—but hey, I was just having fun with it. Every twist I thought I had figured out was turned completely on its head, which was honestly such a satisfyi

Matthew Alan Schmidt: re: the bit you mentioned about Lisa's phat paycheck, it's worth noting that every actor is paid the same amount for appearing in the show. It was something they did out of necessity in S1 due to budget reasons, but they've continued the tradition since because it attracts people who "want to do the project for the right reasons."

The Hidden Animal Archetypes of The White Lotus

Let´s dive deep Into the Animalistic Psyche Behind Every Character This season, set in Thailand, has leaned hard into animal motifs and I mean hard!; Monkeys, snakes, birds, lizards, and more. Thailand’s lush landscape has become a metaphorical zoo for the souls of these characters, each one struggling with their own privileged way to transcend or give in to their basest instincts. Every main char

Did ‘White Lotus’ Season 3 Make You Cry Too? These Scenes Wrecked Me

It took me an hour to process the season 3 finale of "White Lotus." I never expected to cry over this show—it had mainly been a source of laughter for me these past weeks, despite occasionally dragging. But after watching the finale, I forgave any previous slow moments. It's as if Mike White had been saving all the emotion from the previous seven episodes for this explosive conclusion that brought

‘The White Lotus’ Season 3: A Portrait of Our Collapse

Season 3 of The White Lotus had finally come to an end. From the very first episode, I felt that something was missing — specifically, the presence of Tanya McQuoid (Jennifer Coolidge), whose eccentricity and wealth defined much of the first two seasons. As the new season unfolded, I realized that it wasn’t just Tanya’s absence that felt off. The tone had become overly serious, and the pacing noti

The Sharp Edge of Desire and Power in The White Lotus Season Two

The third season of The White Lotus, which premiered this spring, received a relatively lukewarm response. Its slow-burn pacing, scattered focus, and increasingly routine satire of the wealthy made audiences nostalgic for its earlier seasons—especially the second one. Four years ago, few would have predicted that a low-key social satire show would take the world by storm. But with The White Lotus,

Mickey 17: A Philosophical Odyssey into Identity and Existence

By Rumpelstiltskin. Ah, my dear mortals, what would you do if death ceased to be the end and became nothing more than a bureaucratic formality? "Mickey 17," the latest masterpiece from the brilliant Bong Joon-ho, dares to explore this idea with the skill of a storyteller who knows that the right questions matter more than the answers. From the very first scene, the film immerses us in a world wher
