I. Prehistoric Era
Time: Triassic
Earth had long been under extraterrestrial scrutiny. The Precursors first attempted to establish a Breach/Portal with Earth during the Triassic period, approximately 250 to 203 million years ago. However, the Earth's atmosphere contained extremely high oxygen levels at the time, making it unsuitable for Kaiju survival. Consequently, the colonization mission failed. With the advent of the modern era and increasing pollution, rising carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere reached a point conducive to Kaiju's survival, prompting a second colonization mission.
II. The San Francisco Incident
Time: August 11, 2013
In 2013, a Breach/Portal opened deep in the Pacific Ocean, triggering a 7.1 magnitude earthquake in San Francisco. On August 11, the first Kaiju, dubbed Trespasser, landed in San Francisco, nearly destroying the entire city. Humanity resorted to nuclear weapons to eliminate the creature, but its toxic blood vaporized into the air. The region spanning a hundred miles around the San Francisco-Oakland Bay became desolate. This calamity, known as the "San Francisco Incident," marked "K-DAY," the day Kaiju made landfall. Subsequently, the first wave of Kaiju appeared in Manila, Tokyo, Sydney, Hong Kong, and other locations.

Scientific analysis later revealed that the initial Kaiju attacks were essentially suicidal. Conventional human weapons proved ineffective against them, and while nuclear bombs could destroy them, they triggered the release of toxins from within Kaiju's body. This suicidal behavior aimed at altering Earth's atmosphere, soil, and water sources to eradicate terrestrial life. Although nuclear bombs could kill a certain number of Kaiju, humanity would perish before the Kaiju went extinct. Consequently, humankind initiated the Jaeger Program, manufacturing giant mechs capable of combating Kaiju. By solely inflicting physical damage, Jaegers caused Kaiju to die from internal bleeding, preventing toxin contamination of the atmosphere.
Simultaneously, the body structure of the first wave of Kaiju differed from those of subsequent invasions, indicating that the Precursors continuously updated the biological characteristics of Kaiju based on data from the initial assault, making them more adaptable to the current Earth environment.

III. The Jaeger Era
Time: 2015-2024
Humanity established the Pan Pacific Defense Corps (PPDC), shelters, and eight Jaeger manufacturing bases in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sydney, Vladivostok, Alaska, and other locations. With the second wave of Kaiju invasions, humanity entered an era of Jaeger versus Kaiju combat. However, as more Kaiju poured through the Breach/Portal, attacks became increasingly frequent. By the end of 2024, there were 46 Kaiju attack incidents, with 14 occurring in 2024 alone, causing immense damage and creating significant financial deficits for the Jaeger Program. Humanity was forced to close all Jaeger bases except Hong Kong and begin constructing robust anti-Kaiju walls for passive defense.

IV. The Battle for Hong Kong
Time: 2025
The Hong Kong base remained the sole surviving Jaeger facility. To counter a new round of Kaiju attacks, humanity rallied all active Jaegers to defend Hong Kong and engage the Kaiju in a showdown.
