5 Skits To Prime You For Friendship

If you're thinking of going to see Friendship, it might be advisable to prepare yourself for Tim Robinson's style of humour. He is not like other comedians. Perhaps you're familiar with his Netflix series, I Think You Should Leave, in which his comedic prowess is on full display.

But, if you are completely new to Robinson, I've compiled my five favourite sketches from I Think You Should Leave. These should give you a sense of what to expect from Friendship. Please, enjoy them, and let me know in the comments your favourite ITYSL sketch.

1. Darmine Doggy Door

The best this show has to offer. A sketch I quote daily. “I'm not a stupid fuckin' idiot” spoke to me on multiple dimensions. And the plot of him and his neighbour having a property-line dispute is so boring, so mundane, so perfect for Robinson's style of humour.

2. Driving Crooner

Another certified classic. This clip doesn't show the full sketch. For that, you actually have to watch the episode on Netflix. But this gives you the gist. The guy just really wants to make money on his brilliant invention. Why does everyone have such a problem with it?

3. Sloppy Steaks

As a guy who has held a baby and had it instantly cry, I can relate. Sometimes it feels like babies can just see right through me. Don't they realize that people can change? Why is it so hard for babies to accept the new me? And also, nothing annoys me more than someone who doesn't understand the difference between a slick back and a push back.

4. Driving School

Just a bonkers clip all around. And the worst is that I didn't know who Eddie Munster was before I watched it. Then I looked him up and the whole thing became infinitely funnier. And, also, at the end of the day, the women's job actually makes total sense.

5. Girl Brunch

There's a lot of talk about toxic masculinity, but what about female friend deprecation? This sketch tackles this social issue head on, and it takes no prisoners. Girls, can you relate to this one?

So yeah, hope this helps everyone better understand what they're going to get from Friendship. I hope you all go see this movie. I know I'll be seeing it. Probably get a few sloppy steaks before. Might even forget that I have work tomorrow.
