Movie World Domination System: Chapter 5—Roller Coaster Hurtles toward Hell

"'Good luck'? More like 'See you in Heaven,'" Max remarked sarcastically as he wiped his face. Although they could indeed be resurrected, nobody wanted to die horribly like in the movies.

Julio, however, lowered his head in contemplation, having recovered from a depressed state. According to the system's directive ("Ride the same roller coaster as Wendy, and minimize casualties"), the only way to complete the mission was to prevent an accident on the roller coaster. Death would certainly cause the roller coaster to malfunction, so their only option was to reduce the fatality rate after the accident occurred. In the movie, the roller coaster's safety restraints failed first, but at that point, there were no casualties—as long as everyone held tightly onto the restraints, they wouldn't be thrown from the coaster. Ultimately, the roller coaster derailed, sending all the passengers plummeting to their deaths from a great height, which was why no one survived.

"A roller coaster wouldn't derail without reason, and if there were problems before departure, the safety operator certainly wouldn't have started it."

Julio carefully examined everyone in the line. In the movie, among the many chain reactions that led to the characters' bizarre deaths, many fatal factors stemmed from their own careless behaviors—Death merely toppled the "first domino." Julio's gaze finally settled on a person wearing a black baseball cap, a high-collared pink shirt, and a black jacket—it was Frankie, a guy with hormonal issues. At the beginning of the movie, Frankie was already using his camcorder to film his female classmates' private parts. Not only was he shameless, but he was excited by his increasingly outrageous and perverted behavior. At this moment, he was using vulgar methods to hit on two female classmates standing in line ahead of him. He first showed them a necklace shaped like a woman in a sexy pose, then stuck out his tongue and licked it, completely indifferent to how disgusted they were by his actions

"Max, didn't the roller coaster derail because Frankie's camcorder fell onto the tracks?" Julio asked.

"I think so! Should we report him to the safety officer?"

"The safety checks aren't very strict; I experienced that before you found me. Perhaps I should sit next to him, and when he takes it out, I'll grab it and throw it away," Julio said. Actually, Julio believed tattling to be a childish act; it was something a 12-year-old would do, but saying that aloud would make him seem childish too.

Julio's response caught Max by surprise. "He'll probably beat you up, won't he? Why don't I do it instead? I might not be able to beat him in a fight, but I can take a punch better than you."

"Max is still so reliable," Julio thought. Once, Julio had accidentally offended someone much more physically imposing at school. He only told the person not to litter cigarette butts, and the person came over and towered over Julio intimidatingly. Max stepped in front of Julio, stared the person down, and firmly backed Julio up. The person spat on the ground and walked away, and from that moment on, Julio and Max became friends.

"No, Max, this is my idea. And you know I'm good at throwing things accurately—I guarantee I can toss his camcorder to a safe place. The mission's objective is to minimize casualties. You go sit at the back and remind everyone to hold tight to their safety restraints. As long as the roller coaster doesn't derail, everyone has a chance to survive."

As he finished speaking, the roller coaster arrived at the station. Julio put on his Spider-Man mask; he'd already offended Lewis in the bean bag tossing game, but as long as Frankie couldn't recognize him, his likability rating shouldn't decrease. The previous riders gradually exited the roller coaster, and the safety officer immediately opened the gate on their side. Just like in the movie, Wendy, who was scared out of her wits, opted for the seats somewhere near the middle with Kevin, but the lecherous Frankie, having set his sights on the two young women sitting in front of them, went over and took their spot. After a brief argument, Wendy persuaded Kevin to give in, and they moved further back. Julio signaled Max to follow them, then sat down next to Frankie. Frankie glanced at Julio with obvious disdain but had no reason to deny him the spot.

"Are you afraid of people seeing how scared you are, coward?" Frankie taunted Julio. He deliberately spoke loudly, clearly attempting to put Julio down and flaunt his bravery to the two young women in front.

"Sure enough, Frankie is behaving exactly like he should be in the movie," Julio thought.

The roller coaster started. As it began to climb, passengers excitedly screamed, and Frankie took out his camcorder.

Julio decided to first get Frankie to lower his guard. Frankie was simple-minded; his world couldn't accommodate contradictory thoughts. Once he viewed someone as friendly, he wouldn't imagine that person might have ill intentions toward him. The reason he so shamelessly harassed women was precisely because he had only one way of viewing them. Unfortunately, his perspective was distorted.

"Cool shirt, man," Julio complimented Frankie, while feeling disgusted by his own words.

"Oh, thanks, Mr. Spider-Man." Frankie looked over Julio's mask, then continued, "I don't usually deal with peach-fuzzed kids like you, but since you've got good taste, I might consider sharing some of my collection with you later." Frankie pointed at the camcorder in his hand and gave a thumbs-up. "Remember, women need men's approval, and the best way to approve of them is to document all aspects of their youth. You know, they expire pretty quickly." Frankie shrugged. Extending his camcorder forward again, his eyes focused intently on the screen.

"You should really be grateful you didn't live to see 2025," Julio thought to himself while fake-smiling at Frankie.

As the roller coaster continued to ascend slowly, the screaming raged on—some out of excitement, others out of fear.

Julio seized the perfect moment, delivering his Finishing Strike that sent the camcorder flying into the bushes below. His move was so quick that Frankie hesitated for a moment before realizing his camcorder had vanished.

"What did you do, you sh*t-head?!" Frankie hit the roof.

"Sorry, I thought it wasn't enjoying the ride. Look, it wasn't even screaming," Julio mocked.

"Do you know what you've destroyed?" Frankie's expression twisted as he reached out to pull off Julio's mask. "Show your face! Let me see who you are!" The two young ladies in front were laughing happily, relieved to be finally free from harassment.

Julio turned his head aside and shifted his body away. The safety restraints were still functioning, pinning down most of Frankie's body and preventing him from reaching Julio. The slender Julio, however, had enough room to maneuver.

"You'd better hold on tight, or your youth might 'expire' right here," Julio quipped while making air quotes.

"F**k you! Do you know how much good stuff I filmed tonight? Take off your mask, you sissy!" Frankie snarled. Unable to grab Julio, he removed his hat and swung it toward him.

The roller coaster reached its apex and was about to plunge downward. Julio didn't want to concern himself with Frankie's fate—the mission didn't specify saving everyone—but each additional survivor meant another reward, and more rewards meant better chances of survival.

"Listen, this roller coaster—" Julio tried to warn about the impending accident, but found himself being muted against his will.

"Are we prevented from revealing the upcoming plot?" Julio wondered.

Frankie continued swinging forcefully at Julio. Though he was unable to harm Julio thanks to the restraint, he remained determined to vent his anger.

"Ahhh!!!" Amid the passengers' screams, the roller coaster plummeted downward and rapidly shot back up. Julio felt his stomach lurch and his heart leap into his throat. Having not ridden a roller coaster in years, he was somewhat afraid.

The roller coaster twisted and turned like a nimble water snake, sending passengers shrieking their lungs out along the way. Frankie was caught off guard as the massive inertia flung his hat from his grasp. Even more irritated, he removed his necklace and swung it at Julio.

"You should be careful, Frankie!" Julio shouted. If he remembered correctly, the safety restraints would fail after just a few more turns.

Frankie was surprised for a moment, then grew even angrier—the person who threw away his camera actually knew him. Now he was even more determined to find out who it was. Frankie reached out again to grab Julio's mask, and the restraints suddenly loosened. The roller coaster had just completed a dive and was making a sharp turn; the unprepared Frankie was flung from his seat by the tremendous force. As his body flew out, his chin caught on the bottom edge of the restraint, producing a bone-shattering crack. Frankie managed to grab the restraint, but the roller coaster's next sharp turn violently threw him off again. Bang! Bang! Bang! His body repeatedly smashed against the metal framework before finally crashing onto the tracks below.

Screams of exhilaration turned into horrified squeals. Everyone except Frankie was desperately clinging to their restraints, thanks to Max who'd been constantly reminding everyone to hold on tight before they failed.

"This is bad. The roller coaster will hit his body," Julio thought. Falling from such a height, Frankie was certainly dead, but his corpse would cause all the passengers to join him in death. Julio's only chance to work a miracle had arrived.

"With great power comes great responsibility!" Julio shouted with all his might.
