Michael Jackson: El Eterno Rey del Pop

Michael - Película 2026 - SensaCine.com

Hi everyone. How are you?

Although I wasn't born in Michael Jackson's era, my parents were, so my brother and I grew up listening to his music.

Personally, I was always intrigued by this man and this artist, not only for his extraordinary talent in the world of music, dance, and even singing, but also for his humanity.

At the same time, I grew up hearing all sorts of stories and controversies that "supposedly surrounded him," things I didn't understand and couldn't comprehend.

My inner child always wondered: Why were they so mean to him? It was at that moment that I wanted to know much more about his story.

When this wonderful hit premiered, I was able to get to know the man behind the star on a deeper level. His generation isn't very different from mine; like his, we continue to suffer multiple forms of harassment from those in positions of power, rejection because of our skin color, ethnicity, beliefs, ideologies, and even our way of being.

And that's perfectly demonstrated in the film. It almost seems like we haven't progressed much in our time; because, while it's true that even today we can still observe in the world of "Hollywood" all these abuses of power and the way artists are seen as money-making machines, marketing tools, and almost completely stripped of their childhood and innocence; of their character as human beings.

How many artists today are driven by fame, money, and the internal and external pressures of their work and even their families? How many of them were exploited by their parents? And that, ladies and gentlemen, is terrible, abominable, and completely inhumane from my perspective.

Now, from my personal perspective, what I believe this artist and his film capture about my generation is the ongoing racial discrimination that still exists today. It's not as pronounced as it was back then, of course, but there are still cases of this kind, some even ending in femicide. It's no longer just skin color, but also ideology, beliefs, and upbringing.

Like the abuse of power, this continues to happen, especially with "machismo" and the ongoing femicides occurring around the world.

Another thing this film highlights is the foolish belief that money generates power, which keeps us a completely backward society. In the film, we see more than once how Michael's father treated him as a mere commercial "product," a gold mine; so much so that he deprived him of his own childhood; simply because, in his mind, he believed that the more the boys worked, the more money they would generate, which is not the case. Life is a constant balancing act… You can't just work and make money; there's so much more to life than that. For example: love, family, enjoying life as it is. Because we only have one life, no more, no less.

Currently, many artists continue to suffer this constant pressure, which leads them to want to end their lives. That's without mentioning all the "secret cases" or "shady deals" that exist, which have caused many of them, including Michael, to have such abrupt and unexplained deaths. That's what I mean when I say that world is darker than it seems. But I won't go into details.

Another aspect I think the film gets right is the theme of image and teaching artists not to be "themselves" but to be someone else. In the case of the girls, they are terribly sexualized as if they were "Mattel Barbies" or something like that, and in the case of the boys, not all, but several, are extorted just as Michael's father did to him.

That hasn't changed much either. Now, what is the wrong message they give to new generations of girls, above all else? Well, that they must be perfectly thin, wear makeup all the time, and that hasn't changed much... It's still happening.

In the film, we see Michael undergo several nose surgeries to fit the commercial "profile," even with his case of vitiligo, which caused his skin tone to change, among other things.

Now, what things does it exaggerate? It's really hard to say, because it's the first time we've seen a documentary about his entire life. There's not much to compare it to. If they make a sequel, perhaps it will be easier to decipher.

What does it omit? Well, many things, including a statement his eldest daughter made after seeing the film. She said that when she was little and wanted five toys, her father told her to read five books, and if she did, then he would give her her five toys. This is important because, throughout the story, we see how Michael, with his hectic lifestyle from childhood, finds refuge not only in books and literature, which is the most important element of the story, since it was his way of escaping his harsh reality, but also in toys, due to the abrupt end of his childhood, and also in animals, who understood him better than people.

When you see things like that, so unfair, and analyze them carefully, you understand many of the attitudes he had throughout his life. That's why I say that "abuse of power and domestic violence" is very palpable in the current reality of my generation.

Another thing they omit is the issue of the multiple lawsuits and Michael's "accidental" death because it's not in the industry's best interest for those things to be known. So yes, they omit many things about his life, things that fans, like me, would like to know. Because not everyone believes the stories and the various rumors that are said or have been said about Michael Jackson.

So, in conclusion, why is Michael Jackson such an iconic figure in his time, and why will he always remain in our hearts? Not only because of everything he experienced, but also because of his resilience, hard work, and most importantly, because his heart never ceased to be noble.

When you watch the film, you understand that, sadly, the world wasn't ready for his brilliance, and that's why they decided to extinguish it prematurely. In that sense, you understand that people, unfortunately, like to see you doing well, but never better than themselves.

Therefore, his music, his determination, and his memorable way of overcoming the various conflicts he faced throughout his life allowed him to always maintain that smile, those good wishes, and his positive mindset.

All of these things are what define and forged the star he is today and will continue to be for all time. He is one of those "timeless" artists who will never cease to be a musical "hit," not only because of his talent as an artist, but also because of his humanity. which in my opinion, is what has the most value.
