Mike Donis

Biography

Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Donis has been making films virtually his whole life, winning numerous awards early in his career for his various shorts (including Best Picture at the YoungCuts International Film Festival with 'Gray Christmas' in 2005). He began working as a freelance editor in 2005 in all forms of film and video and keeps himself busy working behind the scenes in this capacity to this day. His work on the 2011 short 'The Swashbuckling Adventures of Pete Winning and the Pirates' (in which he also stars in the title role) has been recognized at multiple film festivals across the United States, and led to a collaboration with writers Aaron Tsang and James Christopher to pursue a web series, and then a feature film set in the same 'Pete Winning' universe. Donis continues to passionately work both in front of and behind the camera, primarily as a director, actor, and film editor.
