By day, they're laser-eyed celebrities. By night, they're corrupt and depraved. But a ragtag crew of vigilantes known as The Boys knows the truth. Armed with grit, guts, and a whole lot of resentment, they're out to expose the supes and bring down the corporate machine that profits from their lies.
The first few episodes of this show were such a mess that I almost gave up on it. The character backstories were all over the place, and Frankie's gay storyline was just weird and didn't make sense. Hughie's mom's identity made it feel like they were just trying to throw something in there for the sake of it. The ending had some surprises, but they were handled so carelessly that it confused me. Things like Sage's plan, the senator's betrayal, and Victoria's sacrifice were all just left hanging. It's gonna be tough to get people to come back if they don't fix these issues in the next season.Read more...
This show was a real letdown. It started off strong but then kind of fell apart towards the end. All the main characters lost their focus and motivation, and the big dramatic scenes just dragged on without really showing anything important. They tried to cram in too many plot points in the fifth episode, and it just ruined the flow of the story. After watching the first five, it felt like we hadn't really gone anywhere.
All the side stories in half of this season felt like they were just setting up Hughie's big speech about forgiveness and moving on. It made the bad guy's change seem more real, but the main plot didn't really move forward throughout the whole season. The last episode was a mess like they were rushing to finish it.
People are really over The Deep and octopus thing these days, but the writers don't seem to catch on. They keep churning boring side stories and complicated political plots that add nothing to the show. But when a show only has racy stuff to keep it going, it has a limited shelf life.
The plot started getting tense, and it was all about this political conspiracy stuff. You know, that whole vibe that's been going on since the first few seasons? But the deeper it went, the less exciting it seemed. And then all these wild jokes would've blown your mind on any other show, but they just didn't hit the same in "The Boys." Episode 6 was like the big moment, but the ending was kind of a letdown. It just threw another huge problem at us and left us wanting more in the next season.Read more...
