Biography

Son of Delbert & Lois Helms. Father was a WWII & Korea War Veteran which became a crop duster after the war and mother a housewife. In high school played football and rode in rodeos in the Bronc & Bull Riding events. Eventually turning to being a Rodeo Clown and Bullfighter. Graduated from Hillsboro High in Hillsboro Texas in 1975. Being raised around aviation, became a licensed airplane pilot in 1977 and rated to fly airplanes, jets and helicopters. Member of Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association for 5 years as a Bull Rider. From 1987-1993 known as Hollywood the traffic reporter for KEGL Radio in Dallas/Ft. Worth flying a helicopter known as Black Thunder. In 1993 became the aerial coordinator and stunt pilot for the CBS Television Series, "Walker, Texas Ranger" with Chuck Norris. After eight years,the series ended and was hired by Bombardier Aerospace as a Lear 60 instructor than transferred to the Challenger 300 program where he was on the Flight Test Certification team to certify
