Biography

"It's fun to be on the edge. I think you do your best work when you're taking risks, when you're not safe, and when you're not in the middle of the road, at least for me." Danny DeVito is an American actor, comedian and film director, known for his great comedic talent. He rose to fame playing Louie de Palma in the TV show Taxi (1978–1982) and participating in films such as One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) and Terms of Endearment (1983). Therefore, he established himself as a globally recognized figure, especially in the comedy genre. However, his versatility led him to play roles in other genres, such as in L.A. Confidential (1997) and The Big Kahuna (1999). In addition to his career as an actor, he has worked as a director, with the best known film being Matilda (1996). Throughout his career he worked on several occasions with director Tim Burton. He played the Penguin in Batman Returns (1992), and participated in the films Mars Attacks! (1996), Big Fish (2003), and Dumbo (2019). In 2006, he was part of the TV show It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2005–2012). Moreover, he voiced the main character in The Lorax (2012).
