Denzel Washington

“Discipline is the bridge between goals and achievement.” He earned a B.A. in Drama and Journalism from Fordham University and began his acting career in the theater, excelling in off-Broadway productions and performing mostly Shakespeare. His versatility as an actor soon opened doors for him in television, and he later made the leap to the film industry, where he quickly received critical acclaim. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Cry Freedom in 1987 and won the award two years later for his performance in Glory. With more than fifty films to his credit, Denzel Washington is considered one of the most outstanding figures in contemporary Hollywood. His career includes three Golden Globes, an Screen Actors Guild Award, a Tony Award and two Oscars, in addition to occasional forays as a director.
