Biography

Alan Ruck is an American actor trained at the University of Illinois, where he earned a B.F.A. in drama before starting his career on the Chicago stage. He made his Broadway debut in Neil Simon’s Biloxi Blues (1985) and gained recognition for portraying Cameron Frye in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986). He continued working steadily in film and television, including his role as Captain Jonathan Harriman in Star Trek Generations (1994). From 1996 to 2002, he played Stuart Bondek in Spin City, and later portrayed Connor Roy in HBO’s Succession (2018–2023), earning Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and two SAG Awards as part of the ensemble.
