From his book Essential Cinema. A huge thanks to everyone who added films, helped me find films with alternate titles, or made me aware of films that were added after I first compiled the list. Over two years later, it's finally complete!

List cloned from Missing Movies. Per their HQ page: “Missing Movies, a non-profit organization, was founded in 2022 to help publicize the problem of films that are unavailable (legally) to the general public because of rights/clearances, materials, or "distributor indifference." We have chosen our top 101 (mostly North American) films that we hope will become more readily available this year. This is not a definitive list since films are continuously being discovered and released by companies such as Criterion, Kino Lorber, Milestone, Strand, Flicker Alley, Kanopy, and others, but we are publishing this list to start the conversation. Interesting ones which deserve more recognition (some slightly well-known, others almost unobserved).
