An ever-expanding list of noteworthy live action East Asian films (including documentaries) that I both deeply appreciate and strongly recommend. Sorted by release date.

This list is complied from the films mentioned in Jack Lehtonen's Mubi list on vulgar auteurism, the films mentioned in the Vulgar Auteurist Tumblr, and some personal selections. I can't say I stand by all these films as great works of art (I still haven't even seen them all), but there are quite a few masterpieces and otherwise notable films listed.
