The more characters in an ensemble cast, the more crucial it is for one or two characters to take the spotlight in the story. The director's choice of Thanos is okay, but the issue is that it's all talk and no action. His motivations are just a few lines of reasoning, and his decisions and sacrifices aren't convincingly portrayed. How can the audience then feel emotionally invested in him? With too many heroes to focus on, the director seems overwhelmed, resulting in all the characters except Wanda and Vision feeling like robotic placeholders.
