The Office delivers cringe-worthy humor to the extreme, using its office setting and mockumentary filming style to satirize capitalism and male-dominated cultures. Michael Scott emerges as the epitome of the worst qualities in humanity and bosses alike, displaying misogyny, homophobia, and racial discrimination, coupled with miserliness, pettiness, and a lack of principles. Despite proclaiming the company to be a family, he views each employee as his own slave, twisting every team-building event into a stage for power displays and obedience tests. The most humorous aspect lies in his obliviousness to the contradictions and abnormalities in his words and actions, of how he considers the collective silence of submission as a testament to his leadership success, unaware that his subordinates' numb acquiescence is directed towards the higher authorities behind him.
