Disney truly is an enigmatic entity, crafting animated films that captivate adults while their live-action movies seem tailored for children, though not necessarily appealing to them. If "Zootopia," "Frozen," and "The Lion King" shifted audiences' perceptions of animated films, then "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil," "A Wrinkle in Time," and "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms" have redefined expectations of live-action cinema. It's baffling how the depth achieved in animated movies contrasts starkly with the simplicity of their live-action counterparts.

The clichéd, rigid, and displeasing tropes and plot made by the writers and directors nearly exhausts the audience's enthusiasm and anticipation for the story. The fairy-tale, utopian ending verges on pandering to the modern palette, yet the costume design and aesthetics maintain a high standard. Whether it's the godmother's costume that's dominated by ebony and emerald hues and accented with bones and metals, or the princess dresses splashed with Impressionist colors and forest elements, the wardrobe is indispensable to the characters' identities.
