Avatar is an American animated television series based on ancient Chinese mythology. It was produced by Nickelodeon Network and directed by Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante Dimartino. It first aired in the United States on February 21, 2005.
The story tells a fictional adventure story of ancient oriental mythology: air, fire, water and earth are the four powerful forces that dominate the whole world, and Avatar is the only person who has these four powerful forces. He can prevent the evil fire nation from conquering the world.

However, it is baffling that the Avatar disappeared just when people needed him most. A thousand years later, there is only an aquarium tribe left in Antarctica.
Aquarian warrior Katara and her brother Sokka rescue a mysterious 12-year-old boy named Aang from a giant iceberg cave.
They realized that Aang is the reincarnation of the long-lost Avatar. The "Avatar" is awakened by the divine power in his body, and finally sets out on the road to save mankind together with his companions. At the same time, the plot hidden behind the scenes will be revealed.

"The Legend of Korra," which aired in 2012. The story is set 70 years after "The Last Airbender". Korra is another Avatar after Aang, who was born into the Southern water tribe and has a passionate and rebellious personality.
She begins the story having mastered the elements of water, fire and earth, and will learn airbending under the tutelage of Tenzin, the son of Aang and Katara.

The setting for the story is the fictional City of Republic City, a steampunk metropolis inspired by a mashup of Shanghai (1920-1930), Hong Kong, and cities such as Manhattan and Vancouver. In Republic City, high crime and the anti-bending movement are both problems for Korra to solve.
