An answer like "Exit Sandman" can condemn you to death | If you're a Metallica fan you'll understand.

Metallica's 'Enter Sandman' is undoubtedly one of the greatest songs in the history of thrash metal. This hit has become an anthem for several generations and lovers of this band and its trajectory.

Particularly, this song surprised a large part of the band's fans for that time, but, ended up becoming one of the most acclaimed hits of this group.

In this case, a tribute is made to this historic hit that left an indelible and indelible mark on metal, Black Mirror makes reference to it in this chapter, in a funny and exciting scene, but at the same time in a great way uses the nightmare that is the song to represent the nightmare that the characters live inside the USS Callister in this chapter.

When you see the aesthetics of series or movies like these that evoke productions from the 70's and 80's you feel nostalgic for the future.

I just watched the last episode of the seventh season of Black Mirror and wow, the new voyage of the USS Calister is fascinating.

Watching it you feel like you're watching an infinite amount of Easter Eggs from different sci-fi series ideas from the most obvious one which is Star Trek to Cast Away.

Black Mirror: the dark side of the technological era

It is a surrealistic anthology series, where each chapter takes us to nightmarish twisted stories, which show the worst features of humanity emphasized by its great technological innovations, which far from serving to live a better quality of life is achieved the opposite...

USS Calister

It is the only story so far of Black Mirror that has continuation within the series: "USS Callister: Into Infinity", from season 7, is a sequel to "USS Callister", from season 4.

In the original story, Robert Daly (Jesse Plemons), a resentful video game developer with a disturbing double-face, clones his co-workers "body and soul" in a Star Trek-inspired space battles and action simulator (in the universe of the series called Space Fleet) and then mistreats them, while fulfilling some of his fantasies as fans of the series. All this is recovered in its sequel, while at the same time another story is developed in the real universe where it all originates.

USS Callister: Into Infinity" is the first Black Mirror story to receive a sequel. In this episode, the crew of the USS Callister navigates a virtual universe full of challenges.

Nanette Cole (Cristin Milioti) as Captain

At the end of the first part it was implied that they were going to live a great adventure in an open and expanded world in which they were going to face other players among millions of users.

Soon we have to get off the cloud because this trip was going to be far from pleasant.

In the sequel within the clone group created by Robert Daly, we feature a determined Cristin Milioti as the ship's captain Nanette Cole, Other cast members included Jimmi Simpson as Walton, Michaela Coel as Shania and Milanka Brooks as Elena Tulaska.

We join this stellar journey with a crew desperate to get a few credits so they can continue to travel their world and stay alive. James Walton made the MMO such an extreme monetization that it is almost impossible for the crew to survive. To do so they have to steal from the other players, creating a problem in the real world.

The video game even charges for jumping into hyperspace.

Apart from the privilege of having these spectacular actors, the story is great, so much so that we are left wanting more even feels that gives for its own series (spin-off)

Each of the actors brings the precise character for each character Jimmi Simpson also does great in the role of eccentric billionaire to Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg, reminds me at times also to Steve Jobs with his relationship with Steve Wozniak and the beginning of everything in a garage.

It is a tribute to science fiction to Star Trek to Robert Zemeckis and gamers through heavy metal ... but at the same time it is also a sharp and witty criticism of MMOs to corporate dehumanization and power use and manipulation of customers and employees actions bordering on slavery as physical and emotional exploitation. Indirectly it is also a reflection on the use and abuse of artificial intelligence tools to use the image and voice of living or deceased artists, intellectual property or cases of montages.

Oh and the black humor could not be missing! In a funny scene a player who calls himself a "Metallica fan" threatens them after one of the crew members mistakenly presses the button on the captain's chair "invite to the party" this terrifying looking ship communicates with them asking them if they like Metallica to which they lie saying yes to which they ask what is their favorite song of the famous group; obviously they err in the answer due to their ignorance saying "Exit Sandman" meaning "Enter Sandman" sentencing their own death.

Now the question is... Is US Callister: Into Infinity the end of this journey?
