Ballerina - Review (From The World Of John Wick)

Review: Ballerina (2025)
Rating: ★★★★☆

“A ballet of bullets, beauty, and vengeance.”

The film follows Eve as she sets out on a violent journey of revenge after her family is murdered, tracing a path that leads her deep into the criminal underworld ruled by the Continental. Her motivations mirror John Wick’s in tone but feel uniquely personal and fresh.

Ana de Armas is excellent as Eve — delivering a performance that is cold, calculated, yet emotionally vulnerable. She moves like a dancer but kills like a trained warrior. Every fight sequence feels like a carefully choreographed performance, where elegance and chaos collide.

The action is clean and perfectly executed — no overediting, no shaky cam. Flamethrowers, close-quarter knife fights, neon-lit shootouts, and even a stunning Russian ballet sequence turned bloodbath all keep the energy high and visual style sharp. The blend of brutal combat and balletic motion creates a hypnotic violence unique to Eve’s character.

Cameos and supporting roles from Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, Anjelica Huston, Lance Reddick, and Norman Reedus further stitch this story into the Wick-verse. Rather than overshadowing Eve’s arc, they elevate it, making Ballerina feel like a natural, respected continuation of the legacy.

The action sequences is more clean than John Wick. And it will make you wow including some massy moments. Treat for action lover.

Verdict:
★★★★☆
A beautifully violent revenge saga with clean action, intense emotion, and Ana de Armas at her fiercest.

Haven’t checked it out yet. Do the female lead’s action skills actually include elements of ballet, or the title is that just a gimmick?
