Mr. Monk's Last Case: A Monk Movie (2023)

Any single episode of the “Mr. Monk” TV series is far more compelling than this film, but reuniting with the beloved characters onscreen makes it worth watching. The mystery lacks depth, but the film retains Monk's distinctive humor and eccentric charm, especially in showcasing his obsessive-compulsive tendencies in all their quirky glory.

Every detective's final case carries a hint of melancholy, and Adrian Monk's unique quirks only amplify that sentiment. While the plot is overly simplistic—I guessed the method as soon as the 'six-foot' clue appeared, though Monk only uncovers it near the end—it feels less about the mystery and more about nostalgia. Bringing back familiar faces after so many years, even when they're visibly older, evokes a wistful trip down memory lane for fans.
