A rancher fighting for his land and family discovers an unfathomable mystery at the edge of Wyoming's wilderness.
This show attempts to be mysterious and suspenseful, but the dialogue feels awkward and out of touch. The characters lack depth, and nothing is clarified after all eight episodes. It's just empty tropes without substance. So bad.
The first episode really captivated me, but the rest are pretty dull. Thankfully, the season finale provided some answers from the first season while leaving us with more unanswered questions (hopeful for a season 3). Initially, I was drawn to this show because of Noah Reid, and his character, Billy, is genuinely creepy. It's not the best sci-fi series, but it's been a while since I've found a show that holds my attention.
I'm really bothered by the rise in popularity of these fragmented and illogical storylines nowadays. It's difficult to fully grasp the plot, and the heavy emphasis on visual styles only adds to the confusion.
I typically don't give such low ratings, especially for high-budget productions like this. But the plot of this show consistently disappoints me. I wouldn't recommend watching it.
Compared to "Dark," this series focuses more on creating a sense of order rather than delving into complex character backgrounds. It portrays humans as insignificant in the face of this order, unable to resist it. However, despite the ambitious goals of the creators, the show falls short with its loose pace and self-absorbed humor.
