The first third of the season, with its petty and chilling main storyline, has overshadowed the originally outstanding episodic cases, resulting in a much dimmer spiritual atmosphere in the early episodes. This is especially evident in the dull character relationships and the protagonist's grumpy, deceitful behavior. I've hesitated between giving it 5 stars in previous seasons, but this time, I'm settling for 3 stars to vent my frustration. What used to be a long-running story accumulating emotions and expectations now seems somewhat lackluster. The latter part of the season feels much better.
