DCU News02: Robert Pattinson’s Version of Batman Is Confirmed to Make Sequel

The 2022 blockbuster movie The Batman recently confirmed that preparations for the sequel have begun, and the villain has also been revealed.

In an interview with Comicbook.com, The Batman director Matt Reeves revealed that he and his working partners are deep in the water writing the script for Batman sequel.

"I can't go into the details, other than to tell you that we're working hard on the script. My partner and I are deep in the water and I'm excited about what we're going to do."

In another interview with Collider, Reeves didn't directly name the DC sequel, but he joked that he's currently "working on a movie" and that he's genuinely excited:

"I'm not going to answer the question, but we're making a movie. I'll put it to you like this: We're deep in it, me and my partner are writing, Mattson Tomlin and I are working on it, it’s really exciting, and I'm really excited about what we're doing."

Reeves also praised Robert Pattinson as "a special person and actor". He mentioned "It's really nice to be doing this with Robert Pattinson because I think he's a special person and actor."

According to previous Vanity Fair reports, the sequel to The Batman will continue to explore the Wayne family and Bruce's inner darkness. The villain will be the classic Batman villain in the comics, the Court of Owls.

Although it has been previously reported that the Joker and Mr. Freeze will be strong contenders for the sequel villain, it is clear that the official finally finalized the Court of Owls, a villain that is more in line with the Wayne family.

The Batman sequel is currently expected to release in 2025.
