Alto Knights: The Rotten Cannoli of the Gangster Micro-Universe

Year 1990. While your nonna cooks fettuccine in a huge pot with the classic pomodoro sauce and stew, your mom asks you to grab the wine, fizzy water, sodas and put them on the table. The table has no cloth so you ask your grandpa where it is. Your dad is chopping garlic in small pieces for the sauce, and the dogs bark at the entrance. You step away because you understand the concentration needed for such a culinary task. Your grandpa glances at you while closely watching the Formula One race on

No Love, Just Death & Robots

I binged all ten episodes of Love, Death & Robots Season 4 in one sitting—but don’t get me wrong. It wasn’t because I couldn’t stop watching out of excitement. I just wanted to get it over with, like checking off a chore. Someone pointed out that this season features the highest death rate in the entire series—humans, Earth, civilization itself, all meeting their end over and over again in every conceivable way. I don’t know if the data is accurate, but I believe it—because that’s exactly how th

MovieZone: I agree that this season was like it was made to do and already, meaningless chapters, not that the previous seasons are worthy of an award, but even the stories were deeper, if I may, in this genre of series I recommend SECRET LEVEL as a gamer I love the adaptations and maybe I liked the series for its references and individual stories to video games, but if you like those series where each chapter is a separate story and you can see without order. Give it a chance and I'd love to read your review of the series.

I Interrogate My Friend About The Amateur

If this isn't your first time reading my articles, you're probably aware that I go to the cinema a lot. When I go, I try to pick movies that look interesting to me. However, sometimes I have to make concessions. Over the past couple months, a good friend of mine has frequently joined me on my celluloid adventures. Since he usually allows me to pick the movie, I thought it was a good idea to let him choose for a change. Without hesitating, he selected The Amateur. My knees weakened; I dropped my

The Electric State: A Beautifully Packaged Nothing

The Electric State (2025), the trending sci-fi release streaming on Netflix, is adapted from Simon Stålenhag’s acclaimed graphic novel and directed by the Russo Brothers, best known for their work on Marvel’s Captain America and Avengers films. The First Joker: Not as funny as I remember

I deeply appreciate a dynamic and interpersonal portrayal of an anti-hero because it's a challenging yet fascinating approach to creating a main character that audiences can empathize with and even relate to, despite their morally complex actions. Take, for example, Walter White in Breaking Bad. I could understand his initial desperation to provide for and protect his family, which is a relatable motivation for many viewers, myself included. However, as his pride and ego slowly led him down an i

Christmas in La Palma: A guaranteed disaster

Disaster movies and Christmas have never been a good mix. Have they actually? To be honest, I don't have excellent memories regarding these intertwined Christmas vibes stories, but thanks to certain motivation I'm in the dark about, Netflix had the idea to gather some Norwegians in a Spanish island called La Palma to make them suffer until exhaustion during what should be a festive season. This new "content" is slightly based on or inspired by a disaster that occurred three years ago in the same

'The Substance' Ending Completely Ruined the Movie

Beforehand, I do want to clarify that I respect each and every single person that was part of the cast and crew of this movie. Filmmaking is not an easy task, let alone making a movie as ambitious as this one. If you have been to the movies lately, I bet you have seen (or at least heard of) the new movie by Coralie Fargeat, “The Substance’”; a body horror movie that follows the story of a famous actress named Elizabeth Spark (played by Demi Moore), who is facing the hard reality that many celebr

Road House -- Why?

Road House is a 2024 Amazon MGM Studios movie directed by Doug Liman. It stars Jake Gyllenhaal with support from Conor McGregor and Billy Magnussen. It’s based on the 1989 Patrick Swayze movie, Road House. The original was a campy, cult classic given extra exposure by Family Guy. This new rehash of an old movie is available to watch on Prime Video. For his role, McGregor claims he was the highest-paid first-time actor ever. This may be true because clearly they didn’t spend any money on the supp

Emilia Pérez is the Clear Example of Why not Everyone Should do Movies

Undefeated in the courtroom, Rita (Zoe Saldana), a Mexico City defence attorney, is enlisted to tend to the affairs of a notorious drug lord (Karla Sofía Gascón) who has grown contrite and is now completing gender affirmation surgery. As someone who grew up in Mexico City, I was highly anticipating this film; the idea of Saldana playing a character in my home city made me extremely curious. I must say, I was devastated when I could not get my hands on a ticket for the screening of this movie at
