Since the "San Francisco Incident," humanity, under constant Kaiju attacks, has gradually learned its attack methods, habits, and weaknesses. From a biological perspective, Kaiju is classified into five levels based on size, mass, and overall strength. The higher the level, the larger the Kaiju, the heavier the mass, and the greater the attacking power. Among the known Kaiju, only levels two through five have been encountered in the film.

Level Two Kaiju
Onibaba

Strength: 6
Armor: 9
Toxicity: Moderate
Primary Attack Location: Tokyo
Major Feats: Destruction of Tokyo

Behavioral Traits:
Resembling a lobster, Onibaba is a massive Kaiju akin to a tank, with thick skin primarily for defense. Though relatively slow-moving, it becomes reckless when provoked, responsible for the devastation of the "three-dimensional city" of Tokyo and the deaths of millions.
Outcome:
Japan's Jaeger, Coyote Tango, heroically defeats Onibaba after a fierce battle. Mako Mori, then just 12 years old, survives the ordeal, witnessing this historic moment firsthand.
Weaknesses: Neck, ribs, tendons
Level Three Kaiju
Knifehead

Weight: 2700 tons
Speed: 6
Strength: 7
Armor: 7

Primary Attack Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Major Feats: Sinking a fishing boat, nearly destroying the American Jaeger Gipsy Danger

Behavioral Traits:
Knifehead, the most considerable Level Three Kaiju discovered to date, is relatively cumbersome. It boasts a shell-like armor covering its body, with arteries glowing yellow throughout. Its primary weapons are its forelimbs, with huge main limbs. However, its most lethal weapon is its shark-like head, capable of penetrating an entire Jaeger with sheer force.
Outcome:
After landing in Anchorage and encountering Gipsy Danger, Knifehead engages in a coastal battle in Alaska. The impulsive actions of Raleigh Becket, disobeying orders to protect the city, lead to the destruction of Gipsy Danger and the death of Raleigh's brother, Yancy Becket.
Weaknesses: Neck, throat
(Knifehead's design was inspired by creatures from the Kadokawa Daiei Studio's "Gamera" series.)

Yamanashi
Invasion Date: October 17, 2017
Weight: 2500 tons
Primary Attack Location: Los Angeles
Major Feats: Destruction of California's Long Beach
Source: Official "Pacific Rim" novel
Outcome:
In the novel, Yamarashi attacks Los Angeles, causing extensive damage to the iconic RMS Queen Mary. However, Gipsy Danger arrives, supported by the National Guard, to confront Yamarashi. Despite attempts to stop Gipsy Danger, Yamarashi is led into Long Beach, where it is eventually killed, allowing for the rebuilding of the port.
(Yamarashi is a mythical creature from Japanese folklore, resembling a wild boar covered in spikes.)
Level Four Kaiju
Mutavore
Invasion Date: January 2, 2025
Height: 90 meters (295 feet)
Weight: 2630 tons
Speed: 5
Strength: 4
Armor: 7
Toxicity: Moderate
Primary Attack Location: Sydney
Major Feats: First Kaiju to breach the Anti-Kaiju Wall

Behavioral Traits:
Mutavore, resembling a donkey-faced creature with three eyes, possesses two wing-like structures on its back. After the closure of the Sydney base, Mutavore attacked, encountering a double assault from Echo Saber and Vulcan Specter Jaegers at sea. Despite its outnumbered situation, Mutavore easily defeats both Jaegers and breaches the Anti-Kaiju Wall, prompting the retired Australian Jaeger, Striker Eureka, to rejoin the fight.
Outcome:
Striker Eureka ultimately kills Mutavore, but its breach of the Anti-Kaiju Wall raises doubts about its effectiveness, leading to global protests.
Weakness: Ribs
(Initially known as Baldhead, Mutavore's design was altered due to the existence of multiple Kaiju with the same name.)

Leatherback

Height: 81 meters (267 feet)
Weight: 2900 tons
Speed: 5
Strength: 6
Armor: 10
Toxicity: Low
Primary Attack Location: Hong Kong
Major Feats: Destruction of the Russian Jaeger Cherno Alpha

Behavioral Traits:
Resembling a gorilla, Leathback is covered in a thick, armored shell, with its fists serving as massive weapons. It boasts the highest defense among all Kaiju, compensating for its slower speed. Leatherback is intelligent, often retreating when injured, and collaborates with Otachi to strategize attacks.
Weakness: Head pulse generator

Otachi
Invasion Date: 2025
Height: 63 meters (207 feet)
Weight: 2690 tons
Speed: 8
Strength: 6
Armor: 7
Toxicity: Highly toxic
Primary Attack Location: Hong Kong
Major Feats: Defeating the Chinese Jaeger, damaging the Russian Jaeger

Behavioral Traits:
Unique among Kaiju, Otachi walks on four limbs with remarkable agility. Its tail features scissor-like structures, serving as a formidable weapon. Otachi's highly corrosive acid can melt through Jaeger armor, and its tongue contains a venomous sac. It is also a female Kaiju, pregnant upon arrival on Earth, making it a formidable opponent.
Weakness: Ribs, venom sac
(Otachi's name means "heavy sword" in Japanese, and its design resembles a creature from the "Cloverfield" film series.)

Scunner
Invasion Date: 2025
Height: 134 meters (441 feet)
Weight: 3230 tons
Speed: 5
Strength: 9
Armor: 8
Toxicity: Low
Primary Attack Location: Unknown
Major Feats: Severe damage to American Jaegers

Behavioral Traits:
From appearance to attack methods, Scunner resembles a crazed bull. Its body is covered in metallic glossy armor and has horn-like structures on its head. Scunner has three tails, its primary attack weapon, and despite its slower speed underwater, it remains a formidable opponent.
Weakness: Neck
(Scunner shares the same 3D model with Knifehead in later CG production.)

Raiju
Invasion Date: 2025
Height: 109 meters (358 feet)
Weight: 3475 tons
Speed: 10
Strength: 7
Armor: 8
Toxicity: Moderate

Major Feats: Severe damage to American and Australian Jaegers

Behavioral Traits:
Raiju is covered in armored scales, with streamlined heads and toes, resembling a giant crocodile. It is the fastest Kaiju, particularly agile in the water. Raiju's predatory nature is evident in its massive jaws, which, upon opening, reveal a glowing "head within a head," capable of emitting an electromagnetic pulse that disables Jaeger weapons.
Weakness: Head within the jaw
(Raiju's name means "front there" in Japanese, and its design resembles Gabora from the "Ultraman" series.)

Level Five Kaiju
Slattern
Invasion Date: 2025
Height: 182 meters (596 feet)
Weight: 6750 tons
Speed: 10+
Strength: 10+
Armor: 10+
Toxicity: Highly toxic
Primary Attack Location: Unknown
Major Feats: Severe damage to American and Australian Jaegers

Behavioral Traits:
The most powerful ultimate Kaiju, Slattern, is almost three times the size of a Jaeger, with a dual-finned shark-like head. It possesses unparalleled intelligence, strength, and toxicity among all known Kaiju. Slattern's skin is thick and elastic, rendering conventional attacks nearly ineffective. It is humanity's most daunting adversary, with three tails and the ability to summon lesser Kaiju.
Outcome:
Slattern is the last Kaiju to emerge from the Breach/Portal, effortlessly overpowering the Australian Jaeger. It survives a nuclear blast from the Jaeger, falling back into the Breach/Portal, setting the stage for the film's conclusion.
(Slattern's design was inspired by the 1933 animated short film "Night on Bald Mountain."
