Everything that gets added to this list stays…leaving films I don't give a 10 in here because lol but actually lol but actually so I can see which ones succeeded this personal challenge lol
Psychedelic definition: of or noting a mental state characterized by a profound sense of intensified sensory perception, sometimes accompanied by severe perceptual distortion and hallucinations and by extreme feelings of either euphoria or despair This is a compilation of multiple lists gathered from reputable psychedelic sites and popular lists on reputable film sites. The films are ranked based on how many of the lists they appeared on (can be seen with the notes feature). This list features projects of all genres and lengths, anything considered psychedelic by one or many of the sources. A note on bias: many of these…
I'm making this as a comparison list to my Anime News Network Top 100 list. Letterboxd has more TV series listed as films, so I've tried to leave those out unless they could pass as a movie-length miniseries (~6 episodes). A lot of overlap between the two lists, though Ghibli films rank a little higher here, and there is a little more appreciation for oddities like Angel's Egg and Belladonna of Sadness. Updated July 2023
I've picked out all the films (anything that was not an anime series, TV or otherwise, but including shorts) I could see from the Anime News Networks Top 1000 Best Rated series list. I take the info from ANN simply because they have the most total ratings on the Internet, and their well-established user base. I excluded a bunch of movies that continued in long chains from TV series. Data updated March 2023 Those interested can compare the ANN rankings to the Letterboxd Top 100 Anime list.
This list will be updated regularly. Any suggestions are welcomed*, I'd love this list to be huge and one day to have a 100% watched. Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Taiwanese and Mongolian films are all welcomed. *I'm not including the following films, otherwise this list would be too long and not very inviting: -Films that originated from a tv series (Dragonball, One Piece, Evangelion, etc); films set in a different universe of the anime series, a remake or reboot are ok (Escaflowne: The Movie). -Films that originated from videogames (Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, etc). -Films that originated from live action films…
«I've seen things you people wouldn't believe ... All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.» Cyberpunk; from »Cyber« (greek: »κυβερνάω« for ›to steer/operate‹) and »Punk«. Ridley Scott's »Blade Runner« (1982) and William Gibson's novel »Neuromancer« (1984) are considered the first real CYBERPUNK works. This futuristic Sci-Fi sub-genre, closely related to Tech noir (a mixture of Science Fiction and elements of the classic black & white Film noir movies of the 40's/50's), is dominated by high technology and dystopian worlds, wherein ruthless capitalist mega corporations rule over gloomy cities in dark and dirty environments, whereas our main…
The top 250 highest rated feature length animated films on letterboxd. This list is not my opinion and is based on letterboxd ratings. This list is not trying to compete with Rahat Ahmed’s official list but is meant to create an alternative for people who want an alternative, more complete list. Short films, TV miniseries, Recap films without significant new content, and TV episodes are excluded. The only exceptions to these rules are miniseries that received theatrical screenings uncut or had specific episodes edited into feature length films without any edits. I recommend that anyone who wants to 100% the…
