If you ask me which type of horror films impress me the most out of all the horror films out there? I will definitely recommend zombie movies to you. Zombies are very common protagonists in horror films, accounting for almost half of the total. I'm a loyal fan of zombie movies, and those undead creatures who bite people are enjoyable for me to watch.

I have summarized several characteristics of zombies. And you are welcome to add contents.
1. Zombies are people originally. They are infected with some kind of virus, usually from animals, or through human manipulation in laboratories. The virus is extremely contagious. After being infected, a person loses consciousness but does not die. It is called a zombie.
2. Zombies do not have the ability to think. Their instinct is to eat human flesh, and they generally do not eat animal flesh.
3. Some zombies cannot hear, some cannot smell, and some cannot see. They track the position of people in different ways.

4. People who are bitten by zombies will become zombies in a certain period of time. In different films, there are different time settings. In addition, it also depends on the physique of the bitten person, the part bitten, and how the wounds are dressed, etc.
5. Generally speaking, the only way to kill a zombie is to shoot it in the head.
6. The movement speed of zombies is usually relatively low. They have the habit of gathering in groups, and their melee attack power is higher than that of ordinary humans.

The above is the basic description of zombies. Zombies are different from vampires and aliens. They don't have their own thoughts or unknown powers. Zombies can't do anything except biting people. They just get together to bite people.
What's there to see in a zombie movie like this? We just like to see those who survive!
Zombie movies are telling stories about human beings. Generally speaking, zombie movies have their own story mode:
For some unknown reason, people have turned into zombies. The protagonist(s) pack their bags and start their escape journey. They do their best to fight zombies. While trying to get supplies of living resources, they look for shelters, and hope that they could get rescued. In the process, some people are defeated by zombies; some people are defeated by the ugliness of human nature, and finally defeated by zombies; some people are defeated by zombies heroically after making the audience shed tears. Of course, some people survive.

I like to watch zombie movies because in zombie movies, the good and evil of human nature are explored through people who are put in a very extreme and near-death environment. Even in the most contrived and vulgar zombie films, we can get some thorough insights from the 120 minutes spent. When the hope of life is both unfair and very slim, how can we achieve an impossible survival in a desperate situation? People in zombie films look at zombies as if they are watching the wave of death come on the baseline of equality. What are they thinking, and what should we think if we are them?
I'd like to recommend you a few zombie movies that I like very much. If you have watched them also, please leave me a message in the comment area, or recommend your favorite zombie movies.
1. Shaun of the Dead (2004)
It's a British comedic zombie film full of humor. I put it number one because the ending of this movie is so rare that it opens up a possibility. It is absurd, but valuable. The film tells the story of a decadent young man who continues his decadent story after experiencing a massacre by zombies. The story line of this movie is beyond people's expectation and make people laugh out loud. There are no spoilers here. You should definitely watch it, especially the ending.

2. Dawn of the Dead(2004)
It is reproduced from the 1978 work of the same name of the zombie film godfather. Compared with the old version, I like the 2004 version, because the zombies in this version are the most aggressive ones who run the fastest in all the zombie movies I have seen. I've never seen zombies run so merrily, and their high-speed movement makes the movie more interesting and makes it easier for the figures to behave in an exaggerated way. You might think that it doesn't matter at all. However, after watching a lot of zombie movies, I realize that I have already come to like the zombies who can run.

3. [Rec](2007)
This film can almost be regarded as the pioneering mockumentary in horror films, and many Spanish horror films produced later share the similar style. The zombies in this movie are more like crazy patients, without the habit of eating human flesh. But in the movie, a complete and credible virus transmission chain is analyzed. It was this chain of transmission that made me stay away from any creatures for a week after watching the movie. When the video recorder is turned on in this film, the Pandora's Box in my mind is also opened. I think you can have a look and learn that human beings need to be in awe of the world.

4. Resident Evil series
No matter if you are a computer game player or not, you will feel the same thrill as playing a game when watching this series of zombie films. It is a very violent shooting game, but since its first launch in 1996 to the present, there have been more than 100 million sets of different series sold in total. And there have been more than a dozen movies on the same theme. Here I recommend two films of 2002 and 2004 respectively. The use of camera lenses and the flashbacks of figures seem to bring the audience to the scene of the doomsday crisis.

5. The Walking Dead(TV)
In any case, in the history of zombie movies, it should have its place. In recent years when zombie films have been in the doldrums, this TV series has met our expectations for zombie movies. By the way, there is the computer game of the same type. If you're not satisfied with how it ends, just watch those before season 6 and let everything stop at its best.

Zombie movie fans, if you have any recommendations for a good zombie movie, please remember to leave me a message in the comment area!
